My name is Shaked Sabatani, I'm 25 years old
and live in Tel Aviv. I'm a third year student
in Textile Design, specialising in knitting techniques
at Shenkar Engineering and Design School, Ramat-Gan.
I'm particularly fond of and interested
in exploring and creating colour palettes and shapes.
A series of geometric patterns hand-drawn with coloured markers. The patterns are inspired by African women’s clothing. I used characteristics and attributes of masks, tribal female figures, as well as symbols with natural, warm colour tones.

Chains
This project deals with social norms and the way they constraint us preventing personal development and force us to adapt to dreams, thoughts and goals in common with other individuals.
The project's aim is mirroring to each of us his chains in order to become aware of their existence and reflect before taking any personal decision. I created colourful and light chains, aiming to show the contrast of the individual world. The chains are knitted on a domestic knitting machine using a double bed technique.

Fig
I created various knitting techniques and used acrylic yarns. The colours are inspired by the colours of the fig fruit.
